9/31 The Flow of Wire
I am very inspired by european design. The arrangements are pieces of art. When I was working in Germany I created tons of “chains” of flowers. They consist of flowers and dried products wired onto thin wire and hung from over or wrapped around the arrangement.
These were the inspiration for the bouquet. The base is a wire “muff” that has multiple flower chains cascading over the muff. I loved the colors of this bouquet and the drama that it shows!
Mini Carnations (full and petals only), straw flower, hypericum berries, saff flower, and bear grass create the long chains. By creating it on a wire “muff” it can be carried farther up on the arm and seen in the picture above.
For the brides maids a traditional clutch bouquet is shown with a wire collar. Roses, straw flower, and mini carnations are arranged.
For the boutonnieres I thought it would be fun to used the wire again! The wire is bend into the same style pattern with a single straw flower. The back has a pin for and easy way to place on jacket.
