Our Wedding! Part 6: Reception and Photo Booth Fun!

Since the ceremony was private I really wanted to make the reception something to stand out! We wanted our close friends and family member to feel welcome and feel like they were transported into a different location. I did not want it to feel like a backyard wedding, I wanted the magic of the reveal!!

The tent was a HUGE part in the atmosphere! And a very good decision since the weather may have been an issue….. We got very lucky and it was not an issue but still better be safe than sorry. Inside the tent we hung white lights in a grid pattern to look like they were floating above the tables and to provide another light source.

There were 8 tables that sat a maximum of 8 people with three different style centerpieces. The tallest centerpieces were on the four corners framing the tent with the four additional centerpieces alternated on the remaining tables.

Our first dance was to Mike Ness’s version of “Wildwood Flower”. It may not be typical choice however it is our song and I always think of Chad when I hear it. He had the cd playing on our first day and I commented how I loved that song and he turned it up REALLY loud. Now it was always be our song.

Chad and his friends seem to LOVE shenanigans and I was encouraged to smash cake in his face BUT I knew better! I was told if I smashed cake in his face, my face would be in the cake! I knew he would do it so I decided to hold back and be nice!

And of course there was the photo booth! Some of the pictures were amazingly comical! There are way to many great ones but this is just a small sampling….

We truly had a great group of people share the day with us and we are thankful to each of them for making our day exactly want we wanted!
